The Dolby Screen Server (DSS200)-the core of Dolby Digital Cinema Dolby has been designed specifically for the film and movie theaters, with the flexibility to meet your needs. The DSS200 is based on the proven technology of Dolby, existing FIPS-certified media block and DCI-compliant server.
DSS200 media decrypts movie data and decodes the image. It produces data link encrypted images to digital cinema projector and audio data to the cinema sound processor.
The media pack is reprogrammable to accommodate future developments in image and sound formats and ensures the highest quality picture and sound.
The DSS200 supports playback of JPEG 2000, as specified by the DCI, and MPEG-2 for compatibility with alternative content.
A set of RAID 5 disk drive stores digital content for playback. For delivery, a removable drive bay accommodates standard units of the content industry hard. Content can also be loaded via a DVD-ROM drive or a network.
